Carnival

When are girls were invited to a carnival, we thought, “games, prizes, cotton candy”

Apparently “carnéval” means all the kids dress up in costumes and march through the town.  It’s amazing what a difference in spelling makes.

Please step into our operating room

Part of our job is member care for our team.

In this picture (taken by Tovah), Jen works on John’s scraped arm (from a motorcycle accident) while Davis uses his Swiss army knife to cut a jigger out of (other) John’s foot (from going native.)

Lami's Birthday

Lami asked for tools for her birthday.  She was very pleased with her pliers and measuring tape, and made a toolbox with her dad to put them in.  She was also very happy for the dog that Tovah sewed by hand for her

Her birthday party games this time were less dangerous than last year’s club wielding piñata melee.

Fish

“Hanale” is one of our favorite fish.  Now that Lami is learning to clean fish we may have them all the time…

Davis Toe

A very minor toe injury on the motorcycle in the midst of all the busyness turned into a big deal after infection set in.

Davis visited the Emergency Room, and doctor’s internationally (from Tacoma to deepest darkest Africa) were consulted for advice.  After a successful operation on his toenail with a utility knife and pair of pliers Davis shows off his toe to the team.

More pictures are available for those who feel like losing their appetites.

Dreams come true

Two lifelong dreams are realized here:  Davis has always want to conduct a choir of maasai wood gnomes, and Jen has always wanted to play with tigers.  Both accomplished on our trip to Kenya.
