Tovah goes to school

I guess the pictures say it all.

Nutmeg the bunny

This is the newest pet…

Nutmeg gets along fine with the cat and kittens (July batch.)

Tovah's birthday

Birthday waffles with the team.

Celebration races

After the month of fasting, our village had celebrations and races.  Jen won the ladies’ race, and Davis won the men’s although that’s not saying much.  Only three guys ran, and the guy who came in second was wearing a helmet.

Surprise, surprise, we were awarded with prize money!

South Africa

More business took me to South Africa, where we saw cousin Kristin, made bird feeders, tried to keep warm, and enjoyed a potjie (pronounced “poikie”)

Lami's Birthday

Lami celebrated her birthday in South Africa, and the girls got to go ice skating and on a ropes course.  (We don’t get strawberries on the Islands, or Ice skating rinks…  We do have ropes….hmmm….)

Zanzibar

Henna and spice tours and hotel bathrobes and … Freddy Mercury????!!!!  Did anyone else know that Freddy Mercury comes from Zanzibar??!!

Davis had a good reason to be in Zanzibar, so we took in the sights as well.

Davis' Birthday

Crab cake?

Some products from the islands

We have some surprising things show up from time to time!  This snack boasted “Bitter Milk”, and lo and behold, real Canadian Maple Syrup!

We thought Maple Joe’s beard was very culturally acceptable!

Tovah, Easter 2015

The last day with Fig

Our lemur, Fig, was ready to return the wild.  Richard called us up to let us know, and we decided to do the honors ourselves taking Fig up to the forest to say goodbye.  Then we all sang “Born Free!”…. not really.

Kittens (March Batch)

Our cat has kittens like every four months…

At least we don’t have rats, and Tovah and Lami have enough doll clothes to keep them well clothed.

Dance

This is me at a dance celebrating my immediate neighbor, and good friend who had just been elected mayor.  There’s not a lot to this story.  I just thought I would show you what it looks like when we are in ceremonial finery (and to point out that all 5’7” of me looks very tall next to my friend.)

Just in case anyone missed these...

I post the before and after of my very successful April 1st beard-to-scalp transplant for recording purposes.
