Our new car

This is our new (to us) Toyota Ipsum.  Always room for one more.

Playing with kids...

How many kids show up to play at our house every day?

reality of family photos

It was great for our whole family to be together in Canada.  Grandma mobilized everyone to match and show up for a family picture (3 times.)  Failing to get the shot she wanted, she had someone photoshop hundreds of pictures into one perfect one…  Here’s the final along with a little touch of honesty: what we mostly look like while taking a family picture…

Peanut butter

We came back to the islands without peanut butter, so we dug out the meat grinder and did it the old fashioned way.

sights along the way

How many people can say they have been to “Castroville—the artichoke capital of the world”?

We also saw elk and deer along the highway.

If you are driving up the West Coast, these are the treasures found on highway 1 and 101.

Paul Bunyan

What can I say?  There’s a guy with a microphone who sits inside Paul’s foot and talks to people as thy pass by.  It’s a little odd, but then again, so is a giant statue of a blue ox.  How do you write this on your resume?

Oct 2012-May 2014 Paul Bunyan; As Paul Bunyan’s voice I greeted tourists and answered the same questions over and over again thus creating a stimulating learning environment, and promoted a welcoming atmosphere thus encouraging people to buy trinkets.  I also operated the mechanical waving hand.

Redwoods

In the Redwood Forest you can drive through trees, live in trees, look up at trees, hug trees.  (It’s really all about the trees.)

San Fran

Everywhere you look,

Everywhere you go

There's a heart

(There's a heart)

A hand to hold onto.

Everywhere you look,

Everywhere you go

There's a place….etc…

Horse Riding in San Luis Obispo

We stopped at the Madonna Inn (which is a story in itself) and went for a trail ride.  Davis rode on Johnny Cash, Jen was on Miss Daisy, Tovah and Lami rode Steve and Frank.

Disney Land

Snow White is actually quite an insightful person, if you get to know her.  She may seem childish and shy, but we sensed that she really wanted to connect on a deeper level, and that her concern for woodland animals was sincere.  After discussing the topic at length, she did concede that if faced with starvation, she would humanely slaughter some of the endemic wildlife and serve them to the 7 dwarfs whose natural diet demands a lot of protein.
