Thrice Thanksgiving
I love Thanksgiving. I love cooking and I love eating, and I’m very, very thankful.
This year, I had thanksgiving three times:
- The Sunday before Thanksgiving we were with the girls at their school for lunch. They put on a full Thanksgiving Dinner! One of the best things about it was that it was served on a tray… My grandfather was mortified when he saw that we ate off of “prison trays” at school, but I have always loved it. The utility of it is best displayed at Thanksgiving where you can fill your plate just once, and everything has it’s own place. (This is still not a good reason to go to prison though.)
- Subpoint: not only does the tray keep your different foods from touching… It also indicates your priority foods… Notice that my daughter has chosen pie to be her primary course.
- Subpoint: also, if you don’t like washing dishes, trays like this save a lot of effort.
- Subpoint: they also don’t break if you drop them.
(OK, I got carried away there, sorry, I just like Thanksgiving on a tray.)
- On the actual Thanksgiving, I was in a meeting with a classmate. 9 years we were in school together! He had the steak. I had the squash soup. I think he might have done better than me at Thanksgiving. (I was still thankful… just… less.)
- On the Saturday after Thanksgiving we had an islands thanksgiving…. Nothing really remarkable to note, except that thanksgiving three time is notable!
(I wonder if number 2 really counted though…)
